Wrap your arms around me
like a blanket on a cold morning
tuck me in your snug embrace
your warmth seeping through me
Love me tenderly or love me not
Fill me with your words
sweet, soft, and firm
your voice is the music I hear
when life’s hard as a rock
Love me tenderly or love me not
The feel of your lips on my head
invading the corners of my heart
your fingers entwined with mine
melting me like butter in the sun
Love me tenderly or love me not
Roses and lilies, peonies and orchids
a bouquet of scents and sweets
coffee at dawn, massage at dusk
your deeds more than your words
Love me tenderly or love me not.
